Chariots of Fire Week 8: Empire Strikes Back

Elijah has made it to the top. He has had such an amazing day -- from tearing down the false idols of a nation, to bringing the people to repentance, to praying for rain to be restored and seeing it happen. In a movie, this would be where the music swells and he exits to the applause of a nation. But in the Bible, this is where the story takes a turn no one can see coming. Within a few hours, he will be running for his life... Ever had a day that went from great to horrible in the blink of an eye? How does that happen? And what should we do when it does?
