Sunday Mar 05, 2017
Sunday Mar 05, 2017
Finally, we arrive at the key moment in Job: the moment that God shows up. In the entire Old Testament, this is the longest passage of scripture where God, Himself, speaks. Imagine the importance of this! The longest time that the Creator God speaks to His creation, what did He come to say? The answer might surprise you. Because, He pretty much comes to say: “Everything you think know about me, forget. It’s all wrong…” BIBLE REFERENCES: Job 38:1-13, 19, 22-23; Exodus 9:22-24; Job 38:31-33, 39-41; Job 39:1-4, 19-27; Job 40:1-2, 6-20, 23-24; Job 41:8-10, 18-28; Job 42:2-17; Philippians 3:13-14; Revelation 21:1-5.

God Why? Week 4 – Bad Religion
Sunday Feb 26, 2017
Sunday Feb 26, 2017
Job’s friends come over to “comfort” him while he is suffering. And, as the old saying goes: “With friends like these, who needs enemies?” Why do some Christians love to pile on when someone is going through a tough spot? Why does everyone insist that if God is not blessing you, it must be because of hidden sin in your life. Is there any truth to this? Or could it be that God put the book of Job in our Bible exactly because he wanted to teach us about this kind of thinking…?

The problem with trying to figure out why bad things happen is that there are so many bad things that we experience, and not all of them are caused by the same thing. So we are trying to peel back the layers, and answer the ones that we can, using the biblical truths that we know. This is a continuation of our walk through the Book of Job

Sunday Feb 05, 2017
Sunday Feb 05, 2017
We are exploring the difficult — but honest — question: If God is Good, then why does he let ______ happen? We all have something to fill in the blank there. It might be something personal. It might be some horrible tragedy that is in the news. But it is a question that haunts us. It changes the way we look at God, even though we try not to let it. Sunday Jan 29, 2017
Sunday Jan 29, 2017
We finish up the series with a look at the most controversial of the set: Can we actually hear the Voice of God? Does that mean something audible? Or some “sense in the Spirit?” Or is even thinking about God communicating to us that way senseless or heretic? What does the Bible say about it? Does God “Speak” today? Is this for real? This is a careful look at the Bible, and a personal story about a time that God broke in…

Hearing God - Week 4 - Fasting
Sunday Jan 22, 2017
Sunday Jan 22, 2017
There is one thing the Bible tells us to do when we want to hear God's voice... and your probably not going to like it: We are to fast. But what does that even mean? There are so many teachings about fasting... some say it is like Prayer on Steroids -- upping your chances of getting your prayers answered. Some say it is a physical torment you need to go through to prove to God you're for real. Still others say that as long as you keep the "idea" of fasting, you really don't have to do it. But none of that matters. The question is: What does the Bible say about Fasting?

Hearing God – Week 3 – Miracles
Sunday Jan 15, 2017
Sunday Jan 15, 2017
Do you believe in Miracles? Because God does. In fact, he uses Miracles to get our attention and to help us grow in Him. Maybe you’ve heard that God’s Miracle Power has left the earth? Did you know that never appears in the Bible? Nowhere does it say that God stopped doing Miracles. Today’s sermon takes a strictly biblical view of the Miracles in the Bible, and how we allow the cynicism of others rob us of God’s gift to us…

Sunday Jan 08, 2017
Sunday Jan 08, 2017
We continue with the series of how to Hear God. Today we look at the most common way that God speaks to us. It is something we take for granted. Some of us would rather hear his voice, or see signs, or have someone prophesy to us on God’s behalf… But the truth is that God’s most preferred way of speaking to us is none of those. And in fact, if we do not do this one thing, we will simply not hear His Voice.
