One of the most frequent things a believer says is: “I just wish God would tell me what he wants!” Wouldn’t it be great if, instead of trying to read the mind of an invisible God, he just told us what he wants us to do? Usually around the idea of “Redemption” and “Deliverance.” They are not the same thing. And understanding them goes a long way to helping us understand what God is doing in our lives…

Moses takes an interesting turn in the story of Exodus. Right before God starts bringing the pain in the form of the plagues, Moses gives us a history lesson. He wants to remind us that the Moses and Aaron who fumbled their way through the early part of the adventure are the same ones who are about to topple an empire. Not because of anything they became — but because of who the Lord God IS… BIBLE REFERENCES: Genesis:41:38-40; Exodus 5:1-2; Exodus 5:3-12; Psalm 63:6-8; Exodus 5:14-23; Exodus 6:1, 14-29; Exodus 3:14-16; 1 Timothy 6:15; Revelations 22:13; Exodus 7:1-2, 5-7.

When Moses asks for help convincing the Israelites that he was sent to them by God, he is given three miracles to perform. But as miracles go, they seem kind of small. Much greater things will happen later. So, why these little miracles to start things off? Because they were not just miracles — they were signs. Moses asked for help, and God gave him a sign. Does God still do that? Does he answer our prayers with signs? BIBLE REFERENCES: Exodus 4:2-9; John 4:47-48; Corinthians 1:22-24; Judges 6:11-12, 14-18, 22-27, 36-40; 1 Chronicles 28:20.

Exit Strategy - Week 5 - What's In Your Hand
Sunday Jun 28, 2015
Sunday Jun 28, 2015
When Moses is directed by God to go to the most powerful man on earth, the Egyptian King, and tell him to release the Hebrews, Moses asks a very honest question: “What if he says no? What if he doesn’t even believe that I spoke with you?”
The Living God responded to this question by asking him another question: “Moses, what’s in your hand?”
It might seem strange — it might seem like God wasn’t even listening to Moses concern — but the answer to that question gave Moses everything he needed to know…. It’s not just what was in his hand… it was also what was not… BIBLE REFERENCES: Exodus 3:5-8, 10-13, 18-19; Exodus 4:1-2, 10-13: Acts 7:21-22.

Our life is made up of choices. Everyone knows that. But what we miss is that it is our daily choices that matter most… those small decisions that we make that might seem insignificant, but set us on a path that determines our outcome.
